4. Scope and professional boundaries
Belong OT provides occupational therapy support focused on everyday life, daily routines, independence, regulation, sensory needs, motor skills, self-care, school life, study, work, organisation and participation.
Belong OT does not provide emergency care, crisis support, medical diagnosis, psychological diagnosis, educational psychology assessment, autism diagnosis, ADHD diagnosis, medico-legal reports or expert witness reports.
If Belong OT is not the right service for your needs, you will be advised about other possible options where appropriate.
5. Booking, intake forms and consent
Appointments are booked through Cliniko, email, phone or another agreed process.
You may be asked to complete intake forms, questionnaires, consent forms or information-sharing forms before an appointment. Belong OT may review this information before confirming whether the service is suitable.
For children and young people, a parent or legal guardian usually gives consent. For adults, consent is sought directly from the adult unless another lawful arrangement applies.
6. Fees, payment and invoices
Fees must be paid as agreed at booking, before the appointment or by the date stated on the invoice, unless another arrangement has been agreed in writing.
Payment details may be provided through Cliniko, invoice or another agreed payment method.
Belong OT may pause further appointments, reports or written documents where payment remains outstanding.
Current fees are listed on the Pricing page.
7. Cancellation, missed appointments and refunds
Please give as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment.
The Fees and Cancellation Policy explains cancellation notice periods, late cancellation fees, missed appointments, refunds and payment arrangements.
If Belong OT needs to cancel or reschedule, you will be offered a new appointment or a refund where appropriate.
8. Online bookings and cooling-off period
Where a service is booked online, by phone or by email, consumer cancellation rights may apply.
In some cases, a 14-day cooling-off period may apply. If you ask Belong OT to begin providing a service during this period, you may be asked to confirm that you want the service to start.
If a service has already been fully provided, or partly provided at your request, refund rights may be affected. This does not limit any rights you have under Irish consumer law.
9. Telehealth and online consultation
Online consultations may take place through Cliniko Telehealth.
You are responsible for having a suitable device, internet connection and private space for the appointment.
Some needs suit online consultation. Others require in-person assessment, setting-based input or onward referral. Belong OT will advise on the most appropriate next step after reviewing your information.
10. Assessments, reports and written documents
Reports and written recommendations are provided where included in the service booked.
Reports reflect the information gathered through the agreed service and the clinical reasoning available at that time.
A focused consultation summary is not the same as a full occupational therapy assessment report. Reports should not be altered, copied for another purpose or shared publicly without written permission from Belong OT.
11. Schools, colleges, workplaces and organisations
Belong OT may provide consultation, training, observation, environmental review, sensory space planning or workplace-related guidance where this is agreed in advance and within occupational therapy scope.
School, college, workplace or organisation input depends on the purpose of the work, the agreement of the setting, consent requirements and the information available.
Belong OT recommendations are advisory. Schools, workplaces and organisations remain responsible for their own policies, staffing, resources, risk management and decision-making.
12. Confidentiality, privacy and records
Belong OT respects confidentiality and handles personal information in line with the Privacy Policy, Consent and Information Sharing page and Data Retention Policy.
Information is only shared where there is a clear reason, consent has been given, or there is a legal, safeguarding, professional or safety reason.
13. Safeguarding and duty of care
Belong OT is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults at risk.
Where there is a concern about the safety or welfare of a child, young person, adult at risk or another person, Belong OT may need to share information with relevant safeguarding, statutory or emergency services.
Where there is an immediate risk, contact emergency services or the relevant urgent support service.
14. Resources and website information
Belong OT may provide handouts, guides, recommendations, website information or digital resources.
These resources offer general information and practical starting points. They do not replace individual occupational therapy assessment, medical advice, psychological advice, educational advice or emergency support.
Belong OT resources should not be copied, sold, edited, shared publicly, uploaded online or used commercially without written permission from Belong OT.
15. Complaints, feedback and changes to these terms
Belong OT welcomes feedback. If you are unhappy with any part of the service, please contact Belong OT as soon as possible.
The Complaints Policy explains how concerns and complaints are managed.
Belong OT may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The most recent version will be available on the Belong OT website or by request.
